The preliminary Pahute Mesa 1:100,000-scale map is a color plot generated from a digitally compiled geologic database that incorporates both published and new geologic map data. The accompanying map text includes state-of-knowledge petrographic information on more than 70 Tertiary volcanic units of the southwest Nevada volcanic field, which mostly lies within the quadrangle. The map documents the interactions of several diverse regional geologic elements and includes all major testing areas in the Nevada Test Site. The digital database that was used to produce the map is available, in GRASS ascii vector and DLG-3 (optional) formats.
