README for USGS Open-File Report 94-21: Geologic Map of the Tillamook Highlands, Northwest Oregon Coast Range (Postscript Plot Files)

The digital database is in ARC coverage format, and therefore requires use of ARC/INFO or compatible GIS to access the information contained within it. For those interested in the geology of the Tillamook Highlands, Northwest Oregon Coast Range, but who don't use an ARC/INFO comaptible GIS, we have included the two Postscript plot files used to plot the complete map as well as the text to accompany the map. Together, these 3 pieces constitute the original Open File report 94-21.
The map is printed at 1:62,500 scale, producing two images which are each approximately 25" high and 48" wide.

NOTE: This map was originally plotted on a GPIC Precision Image 636 electrostatic plotter. Colors may display or plot differently on different graphical display devices. Also, the postscript files include encapsulated postscript files which may not plot or display on all graphical display devices. Some plotters, such as those with continual paper feed from a roll are oriented with the long axis in the vertical direction. The Postscript image may have to be rotated 90 degrees to fit onto the page. Many software packages that handle graphics will accept Postscript files and may be used to rotate the image direction.
