What do the data file names mean?
To assist in locating the data via format or cruise, cross-referenced lists have been generated in addition to the numeric tape identifier list. Select the appropriate list to search for a particular data format, cruise or to view the data listing by tape identifier.
There are many versions
of the same data format listed for many of the individual cruises. The
difference between some tapes of the same format can be accounted for by
the fact that one data file has been editted and is considered the final
version of the data and, as such, is a modified version of an original
uneditted (UE) file. Additionally, the difference in two files may be attributed
to the fact that one file was processed with different program parameters
as may have happened with the available gravity (SEAG) data.
To aid in the location of the best possible tapes, a short list which includes only one data format per cruise was generated. These tapes are suggested for usage.
