More Details about
SEAG

SEAG, SEAG1 or SEAG2 . . . what's the difference?

There are two version of this data format and are referred to as SEAG1 and SEAG2. Sometimes data in these formats are simply referred to as the SEAG data. However, the user should be aware of the slight difference in the SEAG1 and SEAG2 formats. These data formats are identical with the exception of a record type indicator located in column 1. A record type indicator with a value of 1 indicates a SEAG1 data record and gravity data processed using the 1930 International Gravity formula. A record type indicator with a value of 2 indicates a SEAG2 data record and gravity data processed using the 1967 International Gravity formula.

Only SEAG2 formatted data are available on the R/V FAY CD-ROM.
