This example shows lode deposits and two of the five categories of metallogenic belts.  The background geology is classified according to PERIOD_EPO (ie. according to age at the period or epoch level).

The following files were used to draw this view:

To reproduce this view, click the 'SurView' button to launch SurView to view these files. Then modify the display attributes to change the drawing colours of the metallogenic belts as follows:

1. locate the 'Bltpos.asx' Metallogenic belt legend by re-arranging (dragging) the legend windows

2. right click on the 'Bltpos.asx' Metallogenic belt legend to display the legend configuration dialog box

3. click on the 'Select Theme' button to close the legend configuration dialog box and display a 'Shape File Display Attributes' dialog box

4. change the Line Colour to RED

5. click the 'Ok' button to close the 'Shape File Display Attributes' dialog box and redraw the picture. The outline of the metallogenic belt will be drawn in RED.

6. right click on the 'Bltpos.asx' Metallogenic belt legend to display the legend configuration dialog box

7. click on the 'Edit...' button to display a dialog box for colour selection

8. select the metallogenic belt unit in the list of attributes (there will only be one)

9. select a colour from the colour chart to apply to the selected unit

10. click the 'Ok' button to close the 'Edit' colour selection dialog box

11. click the 'Ok' button to close the legend configuration dialog box and redraw the picture. The pattern inside the metallogenic belt will be drawn in the colour you selected.

12. repeat steps 1 to 11 for the 'Bltacc.asx' Metallogenic belt legend

NOTE: You will not be able to save the changes you make during this SurView session (since the files are write-protected on the CD-ROM).
