Maps, Imagery, and Bottom Photos contained on the
Massachusetts Bay Disposal Site Region CD-ROM

I. Maps - This CD-ROM contains maps in three file formats:  (1) Encapsulated PostScript; (2) PostScript; and (3) Portable Document File.  The Encapsulated PostScript, PostScript, and Portable Document files were generated from Corel Draw 7.0 and contain maps in a Mercator Projection with the longitude of central meridian at 70° 19' W and the latitude of true scale at 41° 39'N.  The Encapsulated PostScript files are included for the purposes of viewing in a drawing program.  The PostScript files are included for printing and require a page size of 23.75 inches by 21.5 inches for the sun-illuminated topographic and backscatter maps and a page size of 30 inches by 26.75 inches for the interpretive map.  The Portable Document Files are included for the purposes of viewing and analysis in Adobe Acrobat Reader.

II. Imagery - This CD-ROM contains sun-illuminated topographic, backscatter, and false-colored composite images created from multibeam echo-sounder data.  The sun-illuminated and backscatter images are in a TIFF format and have corresponding world files for registration within a GIS.  In addition, the CD-ROM contains 3-d perspective view images and a plan view image of the disposal site region.  These are composite images in which backscatter and sun-illuminated topographic images have been combined.  They are available in a TIFF format.

III.  Bottom Photos - This CD-ROM contains selected bottom photos of the disposal site region.  They are in JPEG format.
