17. A half-meter wide (medium-sized) sand dike caused by a lateral spread. Dike cuts across dark-colored clay. The dike is located immediately left of the entrenching shovel and extends from the lower left part of the photograph toward the right. Thousands of dikes of this width, caused by lateral spreading, occur throughout the region.
