Slide 39 39. Largest gravel found in a dike in the Wabash Valley region. Dike width was 0.46 m. The gravel was far up in the dike and was encased in a sand and gravel matrix. Gravel of approximately this size is not unusual in dikes in the Wabash Valley region in locales of prehistoric, very strong shaking. (Gravel courtesy of P.J. Munson, Indiana University.)
