Central Kamchatka volcanic and sedimentary basin (Oligocene to Holocene) (Kamchatka Peninsula, unit Czs) Consists chiefly of late Pliocene and Quaternary volcanic and sedimentary rocks up to 5 km thick and ranges from 20 to 70 km wide and 350 km long. Basin contains mainly shallow-marine sedimentary rocks up to 6,000 m thick, and widespread tuff, basalt, and basaltic andesite. Unit overlies deformed Late Cretaceous to early Tertiary sedimentary rocks. Basin interpreted as forearc unit for central Kamchatka volcanic belt (unit kc).
