Description of This Folder and Its Content:


This folder contains the winnowed line-data files (ASCII-data
files).  It is designated by the following path:

\data\line\winnowed\


In this folder, you will find the following files:

format.    A format-information file giving details of the ASCII
           formatting found in the line-data files.  The same
           file is found in the info\ folder.

ln_01w.asc The winnowed line-data files containing the
ln_02w.asc aeromagnetic flight-line data sampled at a 1-second
ln_03w.asc interval, in ASCII format.  Specifics of the
ln_04w.asc formatting are given in the format. file.  Specifics
ln_05w.asc of the winnowing process are given in the winnproc.
ln_06w.asc file.  The file names of the .asc line-data files
ln_07w.asc follow the rules given in format. and include a "w" to
ln_08w.asc indicate that they are of the winnowed, 1-second
ln_09w.asc version.  The first 5 characters of the .asc file
ln_10w.asc names correspond to the related ln_NN.txt files in the
ln_11w.asc info\ folder.  However, the number of records given in
ln_12w.asc the information .txt files is a factor of 10 larger
ln_21w.asc than the actual number of records in these winnowed
ln_31w.asc files.

read_4th.  (This file.)  Contains information describing this
           folder and its contents.

winnproc.  Contains a short description of the winnowing process
           and recommendations concerning use of the winnowed
           versus the original line data.
