October 25, 1996 The ARC/EXPORT files I'm sending you are: absaroka.e00 -- polygon coverage of lithology the map units are under the heading IGDS-LAYER (this started as an Intergraph .DGN file) faults.e00 -- a line coverage of thrust and normal faults IGDS-LAYER = 'FAULT' or 'THRUST' inferred or hidden features are labeled 'XFAULT' and 'XTHRUST' dikes.e00 -- lines which should be polygons (units too narrow to plot as polys at this scale) Text files are: absaroka.aml -- aml to create a plotfile (.gra) of the map geol.key -- the legend text (used by the aml) absaroka.lut -- a text copy of the look up table used with the hpispp shadeset (in case it doesn't export in INFO) geol_sym.lin -- a LINESET used by the aml (it plots the thrust symbols on the correct side of the line--I hope.) my best guess for the map Projection is State Plane, southern zone-- you will have to get a hold of Brad Van Gosen to find out the projection of the green line mylar copy he sent me, it doesn't appear on the map. use PROJECTDEFINE to give it the proper projection information--the following is as I said, a guess. When Brad Van Gosen and I changed the orginal we put the 'corrected' value into NEW item. Therefore to quickly locate our changes find where IGDS-LAYER ne NEW. g)--------- added attributes for the DETACHMENT faults h)--------- Modified the absaroka.aml to run with these changes. It is called beartooth.aml to keep it separate from the original.
