Open-File Report 00-77
AbstractThe U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) con- ducted a chemical assessment of streams in the Leviathan Mine and adjacent areas in September 1998. On-site measurements of streamflow, pH, dissolved oxygen, temperature, specific conductance, and at most sites alkalinity, bicarbonate, and carbonate were made at 14 sites. Water samples were collected for chemical analyses of nutrients, major ions, trace elements, and organic carbon. Bed-sediment samples of fine-grained sediment in representative depositional areas at each sampling location were collected for chemical analyses of major and trace elements, total carbon, inorganic carbon, and organic carbon. |
