ESRI Overview of ArcExplorer 2

ArcExplorer 2 is the latest Windows version of
ESRI's complete, easy-to-use GIS data viewer. You
can use it to display and query locally stored
GIS data.


ArcExplorer 2 offers many useful features,
including

--Support for a wide range of image
formats-ArcExplorer 2 supports image formats such
as MrSID, JPEG, ADRG, ERDAS, GIF, TIFF, GeoTIFF,
ArcInfo Grid, CIB, NITF, and many others.

--Support for military formats-Vector Product
Format (VPF)

--Support for CAD formats-DXF, DWG, and DGN

--Support for ArcSDE 8.0.2-The newest version of
ESRI's Spatial Database Engine

--Support for address matching-Based on ESRI's
MapObjects 2 geocoder (U.S. street address style)

download of ArcExplorer 2. You can also get
user-to-user ArcExplorer help from the online
discussion forum.

ArcExplorer 2 and the Internet

ArcExplorer 2 allows you to browse and query data
on the Internet or your corporate Intranet. And,
most importantly, ArcExplorer allows you to
select actual vector data to download via the
Internet.  Download the selected vector data as
shapefiles to use locally in ArcExplorer or any
other ESRI GIS software. Visit ArcData Online to
try ArcExplorer's exciting Web tools and to
download a variety of ready-to-use GIS data in
industry-standard shapefile format.

System Requirements

ArcExplorer 2 works on Windows 98/2000/NT
operating systems. Internet Explorer 4 is
required for some of ArcExplorer 2's World Wide
Web functionality.
