Listing of Data in the Flightline Database

The table below lists the data available in the flightline database with a brief description of the data.

X Projected x-coordinate of the data points in kilometers.
Y Projected y-coordinate of the data points in kilometers.
Lat Latitude of the data points in decimal degrees.
Long Longitude of the data points in decimal degrees.
TC_orig Original total count data in counts per second as provided by the contractors.
TC Total count data as adjusted by the USGS to remove scaling differences between surveys.
TCfilt Total count data filtered using a non-linear filter for noise.  This filter removes data spikes and reduces statistical fluctuations.
K_orig Original potassium data as counts per second or percent K as provided by the contractors.
K Potassium data as adjusted by the USGS to remove scaling differences between surveys, to convert count rates to concentration units, to modify negative or zero values, and to eliminate data with altitudes greater than about 250 m above the ground.
Kfilt Potassium data filtered using a non-linear filter for noise.
eU_orig Original uranium data as counts per second or ppm eU as provided by the contractors.
eU Uranium data as adjusted by the USGS to remove scaling differences between surveys, to convert count rates to concentration units, to modify negative or zero values, and to eliminate data with altitudes greater than about 250 m above the ground.
Ufilt Uranium data filtered using a non-linear filter for noise.
eTh_orig Original thorium data as counts per second or ppm eTh as provided by the contractors.
eTh Thorium data as adjusted by the USGS to remove scaling differences between surveys, to convert count rates to concentration units, to modify negative or zero values, and to eliminate data with altitudes greater than about 250 m above the ground.
Thfilt Thorium data filtered using a non-linear filter for noise.
Mag Residual magnetic field data (nT) as provided by the contractors.
Alt Altitude of the aircraft above the ground in meters as provided by the contractors.
_X Backup copy of the x-coordinates.
_Y Backup copy of the y-coordinates.
