SCIENTIFIC PURPOSE/GOALS To test the effectiveness of high-resolution, shallow water marine
seismic techniques in Lake Okeechobee.
SUMMARY OF THE ACTIVITY AND DATA GATHERED Eleven seismic reflection profiles were collected with total penetration
ranging from 50-100ms.
TYPES OF INFORMATION TO BE DERIVED (E.G., GRAIN SIZE, DEPTH TO BASEMENT) Data indicate that shallow seismic stratigraphic maps can be
produced from a survey of the entire lake.
