The illustration shows a geologic cross section that is the same as in figure 3, with a black lined box around the portion of slope with the colluvium and the triangular mesh drawn in red on top of the geologic structure. The geologic structures are from top to bottom respectively; Esperance Sand (Qva), Lawton Clay (Qc), and Pre Vashon. A layer of colluvium has been defined in the model and lays on top of a slope that is made up of the Esperance Sand and the Lawton Clay. The slope is about 30 degrees. The base of the slope is made up of Pre Vashon and is steeper, 45 plus degrees. Below and at some distance out from the base of the slope is Puget Sound.
