COMMENTS: No seismic record. This is a test core taken near site III-4. Lots of H2S.
PENTROMETER RECORD: Rapid 0-7'; moderate 8,9,10'; very slow 10-16'
0 - 134 cm (Section 1) - Olive gray, 5Y 4/2, silty sand and sandy silt, zones of each, however does appear to get coarser grained down the core; shell fragments sparse except 103-123 cm. Sharp contact with underlying unit.
134 - 154 cm (Section 2) - Jumbled; disturbed -settled into a void?
154 - 276 cm (Section 3) - Dark grayish brown, 2.5Y 4/2, sand. Fine and medium grained in layers and occasional layers of silty sand, colors vary to as light as light yellowish brown, 2.5Y 6/4. 266-276 cm: large area of very dark grayish brown, 2.5Y 3/2 silt; surrounded by sand. No shells; grains coarsen down core.
