COMMENTS: Seismic line for this core is Line AT#7 (sparker). This lines runs from 1240-1256 hrs. Core at 1250 on record. Core into outwash (site II-1 on uniboom record line 16, at 1303, AST 83-2). Section 4 contains many lithologic units.
PENTROMETER RECORD: Very rapid 0-9'; moderate 10-21', slow 22-28'-end
0-82 cm (Section 1A) - Olive gray, 5Y 4/2, silty clay with some shell fragments at 10, 14-15, 26-29, and 65-68 cm. Section appears to be texturally homogeneous, very wet, void at 81-82 cm, (33-40 cm: 6% sand, 80% silt, 14% clay).
82-165 cm (Section 1B) - Olive gray, 5Y 4/2 silty clay with zones of sand and shells, fine sand at 92-93 cm and 132-133 cm, shell hash at 150-151.
165-305 cm (Section 2) - Olive gray, 5Y 4/2 silty clay with zones of fine sand and occasional shell fragments, some zones of slightly lighter color.
305-459 cm (Section 3) - 305-308 cm: void; 308-376 cm: dark olive gray, 5Y3/2, silty clay with zones of fine sand and shell hash, sandy zones increase in frequency near contact with underlying sand. Contact is sharp in color and texture. 376-459 cm: dark grayish brown 2.5Y 4/2 silt and medium to fine sand, some variations in color suggesting layering (405-412 cm: 81% sand, 17% silt, 2% clay).
459-610 cm (Section 4) - 459-469 cm: dark brown, 10YR 3/3, fine - medium sand and silt, small lenses of micaceous clayey silt between 459-462 cm. 469-472 cm: medium to coarse sand; 472-473 cm: very fine sand and silt; 473-479 cm: medium sand; 479-499 cm: silty fine sand, very micaceous. 499-506 cm: dark brown, 10YR 3/3, slight change in color and texture, silt and very fine sand. 506-507 cm: medium to coarse sand; 507-522 cm: fine to medium sand; 522-540 cm: silt and very fine sand. 540-599 cm: bands of pale brown, 10YR 5/2, coarse sand and bands of medium to coarse sand. 599-610 cm: dark brown, 10YR 3/3, fine to medium sand.
