<abstract>
This publication presents maps and related databases of aerial
survey data in Berrien County, Michigan. The original data were
collected by Fugro Airborne Surveys Corporation for the U.S.
Geological Survey on October 22-25, 2000. The U.S. Geological Survey
processed these data to convert gamma-ray count rate data to
concentration values for potassium, uranium, and thorium. The
magnetic and electromagnetic data were processed to remove noise
associated with power lines and other man-made objects. The
processed data were used to calculate grids with 50 m grid cells.
The grids were used to produce maps that can be viewed with a free
viewer that is provided with the data. In addition to images of the
data, the maps include other information such as roads, and streams.
The flightline data are included in a database that can be examined
using the viewing software and the user can plot profiles and can
export the data in several formats if desired. The data and viewing
software are installed via installation programs provided on a
CD-ROM. The data and software require about 650 Mb of space on a
hard disk.

The concentration values are estimated to be no better than about
plus or minus 30 percent except for areas of very low
concentrations. Those areas are suspected to have water at or very
near the surface and the measured concentrations do not represent
the rocks or soils. The magnetic data were measured using a cesium
magnetometer and have an accuracy on the order of 1 nanoTesla or
less. The depths and resistivities calculated using the
electromagnetic data are interpreted values and cannot be assigned
an accuracy.
