SAMPLE DRYING

DRYING SAMPLES TO WEIGH FOR CHN ANALYSIS
Materials Required:
  • Drying Oven
  • Samples to be Dried (in 10 dram Poly Vial)
  • Micro Forcep (optional)

Use the back end of the forcep to flip the plastic lid and open the vials (they are difficult to open with fingers). Open vila with tweezer; link to larger image

Place opened sample vials in the drying oven set at 60°C.
*Temperatures exceeding this limit might compromise the structure of the polyethylene vials.

This oven is for sediment only - no liquids allowed.
Since vials are uncovered, avoid contaminating samples by making sure there are no samples on the shelf above.

Make sure the door closes tightly and leave overnight.
