Plot of average daily streamflow during USGS surveys R3-00-GC and R4-00-GC (thick, red highlight) before and after experimental water release from Glen Canyon Dam in September 2000 (http://waterdata.usgs.gov/az/nwis/). The pre-release survey was being completed at the downstream end during the first day of the experimental release. Average daily stream flow was as high as 30,800 cubic feet per second during the release.
