Third Layer from Top of Lead Bricks for Gamma-Ray Castle

This is the first layer of lead bricks that forms the top of the castle. This layer (32" square) is placed on top of the 5/8" thick aluminum plate. In order to allow passage of the cable from the photomultiplier tube to the PC, a one inch hole is drilled at a 45 degree angle downward to the left as indicated in the side view shown above, so that the bottom of the hole through the brick is directly above the hole in the aluminum plate.
