Abstract:

Boundary polygon for the study area of the USGS geologic mapping effort for the Great Smoky Mountains National Park Region, Tennessee and North Carolina.

Purpose:

Developed to support the USGS mapping of the Surficial Geology of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park Region, Tennessee and North Carolina from 1993 to 2003 under a cooperative agreement between the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and the National Park Service (NPS), Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) and the All Taxa Biodiversity Inventory (ATBI).

Supplemental_Information: data is stored both as a polygon geodatabase layer and in shapefile format
