SAMPLE_DESCRIPTION:
This sample contains well-crystallized kaolinite and is from the middle of what is informally known as "Kaolinite Hill" located at the southeastern end of the eastern relict alteration center. The sample was collectd from an altered Tertiary tuff involved in a hydrothermal event about 7.6 Ma.

SPECTROSCOPIC_DISCUSSION:
The spectrum has absorptions characteristic of well crystallized kaolinite. Quartz and feldspar have no absorptions in this sample. No trace of alunite is evident in the spectrum of this sample.
