SAMPLE_DESCRIPTION:

This sample was collected from the very southwestern margin of the western alteration center from the lower Cambrian Harkless Phyllite which was hydrothermally altered about 7.5 Ma.

SPECTROSCOPIC_DISCUSSION:

The spectrum has absorptions characteristic of muscovite with the 1st OH overtone at 1.4108 microns and Al-OH combination band at 2.2040 microns, plus iron-oxide absorption bands at 0.5 and 0.8 microns.
