The bottom photographs support the sidescan-sonar interpretation: boulders (photo 12) were found in the part of the sidescan-sonar image that is speckled, mud (photo 11) is found in low-backscatter areas, and gravel and cobbles covers the surface of a bar. Note that the station labeled 7 was subaerially exposed prior to completion of the dam, and now shows on the sidescan-sonar as low backscatter suggesting a continuous cover of fine sediment.
