Figure 9. Click in figure for larger image. Sidescan-sonar image (top panel) and photographs from 2002 (bottom panel) supporting the different facies interpreted from the sidescan-sonar imagery. The photograph from the mud area shows a smooth featureless surface; the photograph from the area where Quaternary strata are exposed shows a mix of sand, gravel and a cobble; and the photograph from the sand area shows some evidence of ripples. Location shown in Figure 3.
