Introduction

This paper presents the benthic foraminiferal data from eight sediment cores collected from the continental shelf of the Gulf of Mexico, obtained as part of an initiative to investigate the geographic and temporal extent of hypoxia, low oxygen water, in the Gulf of Mexico. Two cores GY 94H-95 and 96 are located on the Texas continental shelf and the remainder of the cores are located on the Louisiana shelf.
