Figure 2.5. Excess ²¹⁰Pb versus depth in the Pocomoke Sound cores. Core 1, on the seaward side of the delta is close to ideal. Cores 2, 3, 4 and 6 have what appears to have two different ²¹⁰Pb distributions. In the upper part of the cores, the ²¹⁰Pb decrease is not as great as it is with depth. This suggests the sediment in the upper part of the cores was being deposited at a greater rate than those deeper in the section.
