Figure 2.5. Excess 210Pb versus depth in the Pocomoke Sound cores. Core 1, on the seaward side of the delta is close to ideal. Cores 2, 3, 4 and 6 have what appears to have two different 210Pb distributions. In the upper part of the cores, the 210Pb decrease is not as great as it is with depth. This suggests the sediment in the upper part of the cores was being deposited at a greater rate than those deeper in the section.
