Figure 4.4. X-radiograph of core PC-3A, from the flank of Pocomoke Sound. The core consists primarily of coarse sand and mud with flaser bedding, which do not typically preserve material for either radiocarbon or lead-210 dating. Therefore, such core were not used for paleoecological analyses.
