What does this data set describe?

Title: USGS OFR 03-001, Surficial sediment data from the Gulf of Maine
    Abstract:
This report contained 42 layers of surficial sediment data from the Gulf of Maine. These data were presented as single-point vector datasets with sample identifiers, navigation, textural attribute information, and metadata. Complete metadata for these individual datasets can be found at <http://pubs.usgs.gov/of/2003/of03-001/htmldocs/data.htm> and are not duplicated within this publication.
