Abstract:

This investigation examines the heavy mineral concentrations along the innner continental shelf of the northeastern Gulf of Mexico and summarizes the textual characteristics of the region. The report also includes background information regarding heavy mineral classifications, uses, resources, sampling and analytical methods.

Purpose:

The purpose of this data layer is to create a digital version of the sedimentary characteristics published by Arthur (1986) for inclusion in the usSEABED data collection.
