AbstractSelected drill core intervals of barren and mineralized Popovich Formation from the Screamer ore zone of the Betze-Post gold deposit on the Carlin trend in Nevada were analyzed for geochemical and stable isotopic composition. A total of 332, five-foot core samples from five exploration holes were analyzed for gold, sulfur, carbonate, carbonaceous material, forty major, minor, and trace elements, antimony, barium, tellurium, sulfide sulfur isotopes and selected samples for carbonate carbon and oxygen isotopes. Drill-hole coordinates and collar elevations, sample depth intervals, stratigraphic units, and geochemical and stable isotopic compositions, are presented in tables. Gold ranged from less than 0.001 ounce per ton in barren intervals to over 0.6 ounce per ton in ore-grade intervals of Popovich rocks. Sulfide sulfur isotopic compositions (δ34S) ranged from less than -16.0 to 16.0 per mil relative to Vienna Cañon Diablo Troilite (VCDT). Carbonate carbon isotopic compositions (δ13C) ranged from -2.0 to 2.0 per mil relative to Vienna Pee Dee Belemnite (VPDB). Carbonate oxygen isotopic compositions (δ18O) ranged from 8.6 to 26.8 per mil relative to Vienna Standard Mean Ocean Water (VSMOW). |
