Revision History for Open-File Report 2012-1005 Poppe, L.J., Danforth, W.W., McMullen, K.Y., Blakenship, M.A., Glomb, K.A., Wright, D.B., and Smith, S.M. Sea-Floor Character and Sedimentary Processes of Block Island Sound, Offshore Rhode Island ----------------------------------------------------- Posted online August 7, 2012 ----------------------------------------------------- Revised and reposted August 14, 2014, version 1.1 The changes that were made were as follows: 1. The dataset for sedimentary environments (bisound_sedenv) was revised based on a comparison of the 4-meter (m) bathymetry from this report with newer 2-m bathymetry from National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) survey H12299 in the adjacent area. This comparison revealed that an area in the southwestern corner of the dataset originally interpreted as sand waves was actually transitional, whereby sand waves progressively intermixed with and were replaced by gravel ridges. Thus, sedimentary environments in the southwestern corner of the study area changed from those characterized by processes associated with coarse bedload transport to those associated with erosion or non-deposition, and the dataset was revised to reflect this new interpretation and renamed (bisound_sedenv_v1.1). 2. Figure 38 in the report was revised to show the new interpretation, the caption of this figure was revised to include NOAA survey H12299 in the list of surveys, and file names and links associated with this dataset in the Data Catalog section were updated. -----------------------------------------------------
