- Abstract:
-
This dataset represents geologic mapping of the east half
of the Lime Hills 1:250,000-scale quadrangle. It is used
to create the map sheet in OFR 2013-1090, which shows geology
at 1:250,000 scale.
- Purpose:
-
Digital representation of geologic mapping facilitates the
presentation and analysis of earth-science data. Digital
maps may be displayed at any scale or projection, however
the geologic data in this coverage is not intended for use
at a scale larger than 1:250,000.

- Attribute_Accuracy_Report:
-
All vector features were originally hand digitized from a
folded paper map using a large digitizing tablet , or from a
scanned image on screen. The digital data has been visually
checked and the geologic map has undergone technical review.
- Logical_Consistency_Report:
-
Coverage lhgeol is a network coverage containing
attributed arcs and polygons. Each polygon has a coded
attribute designating the mapped geologic unit. Faults,
stratigraphic contacts, and other linear features are
represented as arcs. When a fault is also a stratigraphic
contact, only a single arc is present. Dangle arcs may
be present (faults, moraine, etc.)
- Completeness_Report:
-
This coverage was used to create the map of
OFR 2013-1090. Text files, tables, graphics, symbolsets,
and topography shown on the map sheet are not included.

Users of this digital geologic map should respect the
intentions of the original mappers and the limitations
of the map. This geologic map compilation is intended
to be used at a scale of 1:250,000; it is not intended to
be used at a more detailed scale.

- Process_Step:
-
- Process_Description:
-
All vector features were originally hand digitized on a
large digitizing tablet from a folded paper map or on from a
scanned image on screen. After digitizing, the arcs and
polygons were attributed. The coverage is provided in UTM projection
and geographic coordinates. The ARC/Info coverages have been
exported to an interchange file format, .e00, and also converted to
ArcView shape files. Note that unlike the coverages the shapefiles do
not maintain topology between the arcs and polygons and the directions
from start node to end node may have changed from the original coverage
direction.

ARC-CODE is a positive integer value (3 3 I) item in the

ARC-CODE identifies a stratigraphic boundary, fault, or other
linear feature. The ARC-CODE is described by the item LINE-TYPE.

Characteristics of the polygon features in coverage lhgeol are coded in
lhgeol.pat, the polygon attribute table. Table lhgeol.pat includes
the following items: CLASS, MODIFIER, and LABEL (geologic unit label).
NOTE: Because of the limitations of common GIS fonts,
the letters "Pz" and "Tr" are substituted for the standard symbols
"Paleozoic" and "Triassic."
- Entity_Type_Definition_Source: This dataset
- Attribute:
-
- Attribute_Label: CLASS
- Attribute_Definition:
-
CLASS is a positive integer value (4 5 B) item in the polygon attribute table.
Values range nonsequentially from 101 to 1705.
Every unit listed in the description of map units has a unique CLASS value. Units
that are queried are attributed with the same class value as the listed unit. Units queried
where uncertain.
Each CLASS value listed below is defined by the information from the LABEL (6 8 c) item
which contains the geologic unit label if one was assigned.
