Geophysical Interpretations for the Southern Espaņola Basin, New Mexico, That Contribute to Understanding Its Hydrogeologic Framework U.S. Geological Survey Professional Paper 1761 2009 by V.J.S. Grauch, Jeffrey D. Phillips, Daniel J. Koning, Peggy A. Johnson, and Viki Bankey, version 1.0 The files on this CD-ROM include the report and plates for USGS Professional Paper 1761, and associated geospatial files that represent selected geophysical interpretations discussed in the report. The digital files also can be downloaded via the Web from http://pubs.usgs.gov/pp/1761/. The geospatial files have been approved for release and publication by the Director of the U.S. Geological Survey. Although this database has been subjected to rigorous review and is substantially complete, the U.S. Geological Survey reserves the right to revise the data pursuant to further analysis and review. Furthermore, it is released on condition that neither the U.S. Geological Survey nor the United States Government may be held liable for any damages resulting from its authorized or unauthorized use. Any use of trade, product, or firm names is for descriptive purposes only and does not imply endorsement by the U.S. Government. The database contact is: V.J.S. The data, processes, interpretations, assumptions, and models are presented in detail in the accompanying report. Geospatial representation of selected geophysical interpretations are represented as XYZ ASCII files and ESRI shapefiles. In addition, Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) files representing Plates 1 and 2 from the report can be downloaded and plotted at original size (23" x 38") on an oversize color plotter. The files can be read using Adobe Reader, available from www.adobe.com. Shapefiles can be opened by ESRI and other standard GIS software. See www.esri.com for more information. Please refer to sfg_model_metadata.txt for detailed metadata documentation of the XYZ ASCII point data and seb_interp_metadata.txt for detailed metadata documentation of the shapefiles. For the most accurate color rendition when printing the PDF files, please specify the Adobe RGB monitor profile. The report p1761report.pdf and p1761readme.txt (this file) are in the top folder. The contents of folders GIS, Plates, and xyzascii are as follows. ---------- GIS folder ---------- seb_interp_metadata.txt Metadata describing the interpretations represented by lines Shapefiles for rv_hinge Line following general location of interpreted Rancho Viejo hinge zone. rv_hinge.shp rv_hinge.shx rv_hinge.dbf rv_hinge.prj Shapefiles for seb_cdr_extent Lines representing magnetically inferred extent of Cerros del Rio volcanic field and related flows within study area seb_cdr_extent.shp seb_cdr_extent.shx seb_cdr_extent.dbf seb_cdr_extent.prj Shapefiles for seb_grv_flts Lines representing faults interpreted from gravity data seb_grv_flts.shp seb_grv_flts.shx seb_grv_flts.dbf seb_grv_flts.prj Shapefiles for seb_intrusions Lines outlining interpreted extents of Tertiary older volcanic vents and intrusions.
