  <dc:description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt;A pigmentation anomaly appearing as white stripes or spots in one group of channel catfish,&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;i&gt;Ictalurus punctatus&lt;/i&gt;&lt;span&gt;, was found to be a non-inheritable trait. We suspect, therefore, that the depigmentation was induced by environmental conditions or by a pathogen, but tests for bacterial and viral agents were negative.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;</dc:description>
