<dc:description>Although much information has been gathered on American woodcock (Scolopax minor) wintering east of the Lower Mississippi Alluvial Valley, that information has not been compiled into a single source assembled for land managers. The objectives of this paper are to pose a few important questions that should be addressed before implementing a land management plan and to briefly review some of the management options available to managers that are interested in helping woodcock. The primary focus is on timber management because a sound timber management plan, it is believed, will be advantageous to wintering woodcock.</dc:description>
