  <dc:description>Samples of gallbladder bile and blood from shovelnose sturgeons (Scaphirhynchus platorynchus) collected from the Chippewa River, Wisconsin, contained concentrations of Na&lt;sup&gt;+&lt;/sup&gt;, K&lt;sup&gt;+&lt;/sup&gt;, Ca&lt;sup&gt;++&lt;/sup&gt;, Mg&lt;sup&gt;++&lt;/sup&gt;, Cl&lt;sup&gt;-&lt;/sup&gt;, inorganic phosphate, and total cholesterol closely comparable with those reported for similar samples from other species of freshwater sturgeons.</dc:description>
