  <dc:description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt;We report an apparent nonlethal predation attempt on and subsequent adoption of a Glaucous-winged Gull (&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="genus-species"&gt;Larus glaucescens&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;) chick by a pair of Bald Eagles (&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="genus-species"&gt;Haliaeetus leucocephalus&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;) in the Aleutian Archipelago, Alaska. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of a live Glaucous-winged Gull chick in a Bald Eagle nest. We describe our observations of this occurrence and offer explanations on how it may have occurred.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;</dc:description>
