There are reports that formalin is toxic at some hatcheries, especially when used on rainbow trout (&lt;i&gt;Salmo gairdneri&lt;/i&gt;). This is a discussion of the development of the use of formalin to control fish parasite-in the hatchery, its properties, and some experimental work.&lt;/p&gt;
