  <dc:description>&lt;p&gt;The months of May and June were somewhat quiet, seismically speaking. There was one major earthquake in the South Pacific on MAy 1. The most destructive earthquake, causing loss of life, was in Indonesia on May 30.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;In the United States, the largest earthquakes were in Alaska but caused no damage. Some minor damage was reported from earthquakes in California.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;</dc:description>
