Pharris 1987 <p>Questionnaires were mailed to black bear (<i>Ursus americanus</i>) hunters in Arkansas following the 1980-84 bear seasons to determine participation, hunter success, and number of bears observed by hunters. Man-days of hunting to harvest a bear ranged from 148 to 671 and hunter success ranged from 0.4% to 2.2%.
