The&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="searchword"&gt;model&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="searchword"&gt;AQMAN3D&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;, is a modified version of a previously developed two-dimensional AQMAN&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="searchword"&gt;model&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;. The idea of coupling the AQMAN&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="searchword"&gt;model&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;&amp;nbsp;with the MODULAR&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="searchword"&gt;model&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;&amp;nbsp;arose because actual groundwater flow systems behave in a three dimensional manner, therefore requiring treatment as such, and due to the widespread use of MODULAR. The use of the&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="searchword"&gt;AQMAN3D&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="searchword"&gt;model&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;&amp;nbsp;permits the implementation of the technique known as&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="searchword"&gt;aquifer&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="searchword"&gt;management&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;modeling. A generalized approach to obtain an optimal solution to an&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="searchword"&gt;aquifer&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="searchword"&gt;management&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;&amp;nbsp;problem is proposed, and a sample test problem is presented to illustrate the use of the&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="searchword"&gt;model&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;. Even though the&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="searchword"&gt;model&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;&amp;nbsp;provides the hydrologist with a new and powerful investigative tool, its applicability is limited to confined or quasiconfined systems.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;</dc:description>
