<p><span>Hydraulic engineers are interested </span>in<span> </span>ground<span>‐</span>water<span> as a source of </span>water<span> supply and also as it affects stream‐flow. The stream‐flow is especially valuable at low stages and it is at the low stages that it is most closely related to the </span>ground<span>‐</span>water<span> conditions. For several years the </span>Pennsylvania<span> Topographic and Geologic Survey and the United States Geological Survey have cooperated </span>in<span> making a comprehensive study of the </span>ground<span>‐</span>water<span> resources of </span>Pennsylvania<span>, but no adequate records of </span>ground<span>‐</span>water<span> levels have </span>in<span> the past been obtained. Recently, however, a project for obtaining systematic records </span>in<span> </span>Pennsylvania<span> has been started. ©1932. American Geophysical Union.</span></p>
