The limits of detection and quantification, respectively, were 12.1 and 58.4 gene copies for calibration standards and these values were similarly low in a relevant environmental sample matrix (8.6 and 174.2, respectively). The assay’s utility was demonstrated in situ on water samples with concomitant manual invertebrate surveys from a wide range of alpine streams across L. tumana’s native range.

</dc:description>
