  <dc:description>Ground-water data were collected in 1979 at White Sands Missile Range in south-central New Mexico. Total ground-water pumpage from the Post Headquarters well field, which produces more than 98% of the water used at White Sands Missile Range, was 1.4 million gallons more in 1979 than in 1978. The most significant seasonal water-level declines observed in 1979 were in supply well 22 (36.35 feet) and test well T-7 (15.98 feet). The chemical quality of water samples collected in 1979 was similar to that collected at comparable depths and periods in 1978. (USGS)</dc:description>
