  <dc:description>The High Plains aquifer system in south-central South Dakota comprises dune sands, the Ogallala Formation, the Arikaree Formation, and the White River Group. As part of the High Plains Regional Aquifer-Systems Analysis, a total of 29 test holes were drilled from 1979 to 1980 to aid in defining the geometry of the aquifer system. The information obtained from these drilling progrms is presented. (USGS)</dc:description>
