  <dc:description>&lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt;More than &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;1,200 &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;titles and abstracts of &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;limnological &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;studies of ponds, &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;reservoirs, &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;and &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;lakes &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;(excluding &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;Lakes &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;Erie and &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;Ontario) &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;are compiled &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;in one volume. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;Publications &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;cited date from the &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;late &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;19th century through &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;1974. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;Titles and abstracts are presented &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;alphabetically by author's &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;name; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;cross &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;indexes of coauthors, &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;locations, &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;and &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;subjects are &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;also provided. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;Authors' &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;abstracts were used &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;if available; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;the remainder were written by &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;the compilers of this volume and are so designated. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;Some of the publications cited &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;could not be obtained for review; &lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;they are given complete reference but have no accom&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;panying abstract.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt;This compilation is an exhaustive index to limnological studies within the State. It is intended for use mainly by those concerned with water-use planning, water management, and lake ecology. &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;</dc:description>
