<dc:description>A gravity study of the Twentynine Palms Marine Corps Base and vicinity, California, based on 495 gravity measurements, has been completed. The resulting contour map of the area shows that the ground-water basin ranges in depth from less than a foot at the edges of the basin to about 10,500 feet at the center of a gravity low near Deadman Lake. This study will aid in later studies to determine quantities of water in storage beneath the Marine Corps Base. (USGS)</dc:description>
